Used Computer Store
The Squamish Welcome Centre houses a small, volunteer-run computer recycling program and used computer store. We take donations of used technology, evaluate & refurbish it for sale in our store! We try to keep our sale prices low so that those in need of a computer can afford them. For computers, we wipe hard drives to ensure donor privacy before refurbishing. The system is cleaned, tested for basic functionality and then Linux Mint is installed before it is put out for sale.
Drop-in computer technical support is available on a limited and by-donation basis on most Wednesday afternoons!

Squamish Robotics Bootcamp
This free bootcamp for teenagers ran in 2023 and 2024. The 8-week program offered interactive instruction on how to build circuits and use a microcontroller to interact with different kinds of sensors.
This program was made possible by community donations from Greg Gardner Motors, Community Bookstore revenue, and in-kind donations of time and materials. The bootcamp was created and taught by Welcome Centre volunteer Gabriel Robinson-Leith, graduated from the Engineering Physics program at UBC in 2022 and is now headed back for a graduate degree.
