About us
The Squamish Welcome Centre is the ‘doing buisness as’ name for the Squamish Volunteer Centre Society (SVCS). The SVCS is a community-oriented non-profit with a volunteer Board of Directors with a brick-and-mortar presence (the Squamish Welcome Centre!) in downtown Squamish, BC. The SVCS was founded in the early 1990s, and continues to operate on the unceded traditional territory of the Skwxwu7mesh Nation, who have stewarded this land since time immemorial.

Squamish Welcome Centre
Located in downtown Squamish, the Squamish Welcome Centre is a place for you. Here, you’ll find a Support Program for Migrant Workers, the Squamish Community Bookstore, a Computer Lab, an activity space for events and programs, and there is much more happening behind the scenes.
The Squamish Welcome Centre is also home to our partner, Squamish Newcomer Services. Our front seating area is open to everyone during bookstore hours and has free WiFi, so feel free to stop by and say hello!

Community Bookstore and Computer Lab
The Squamish Community Bookstore is your go-to, volunteer-run source for books in Squamish. Books are donated by community members and shelves are curated by dedicated volunteers.
